2018 Vegetable Challenge: Begin!

Two short rows of fully grown sweetheart cabbages
A few gaps in the row now (finally), May 2018
I might have mentioned this already, but I could have started this challenge a few weeks ago really (though we would be eating mostly chard and cabbage for the foreseeable future).  But it officially started on 27 May, 2018, and will officially finish on 27 November, 2018.  The rules, as stated in previous challenges:

-No vegetables to be bought during the stated time limits.
-Vegetables may be obtained through other means, such as trading/barter, gifts, foraging, etc, so long as no money is exchanged.
-All fruits are allowed;  this includes "salad" fruits such as cucumber, peppers, etc.

At the moment the only vegetables we have been buying are onions and lettuce, and we bought a little extra during our last shop.  I hope my own onions and lettuces hurry up!  But we can still have salads with more exotic leaves:  young chard, sorrel, arugula, mizuna.  Onions, well... it'll be chives for a while, I think.

Let the challenge begin!
